  • "Local piano virtuoso Dr. Gulimina Mahamuti wowed the audience with her masterful performance of Benjamin Britten's challenging Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 13, .... A long and appreciative standing ovation ... kept Mahamuti and Hong [Guest Maestro] on their feet following the moving performance of Britten's concerto which included: I. Toccata II. Waltz III. Impromptu and IV. March."
                                                                  - - Tribune Courier: Linda Fulmer, reviewer of Tribune Courier

  • “We, too, felt the same excitement and pride as we listened ... on the evening of January 8th [2012] at the Weill Recital Hall in New York… [The] interpretation that acknowledged [a lyrical and genuine romanticism, in addition to the folkloric elements] allowed the audience to engage the compositions intimately.”

Emre Aracı, composer, conductor, and music historian from the United Kingdom

  • "It was a real cultural phenomenon and a musical feast for the audience that packed the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall…. The audience members of the recital …, have assuredly experienced how alike the voices from Turkey and melodies from the Uyghur soil are…. Raised in China's Uyghur region, Gulimina Mahamuti presented the sonorities of the region by two composers. The Uyghur region's own Shi Fu's Xinjiang Suite No. 2, was in four movements and composed from 1959 through 1981. The Uyghur, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Tajik people's voices of northwestern China were not different from that of Saygun's sonata and suite.... Emre Araci’s Bosphorus by Moonlight created the finale that embraced all common emotions and sonorities presented in previous compositions, and brought the audience to their feet as they applauded the composer and the performers...."

  • "... magnificent, hearty performance by Gulimina ... touched every audience ..."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        -- Heilongjiang Daily News: 唐小清 (Tang Xiaoqing)
